Artist Statement: May my little clay figure capture the Vesper Hour in her reflected vulnerability, and her longing to connect through prayer to God's compassion, hope, and love. May her offered gift of flowers "speak" to the trusting of her heart and the nature of her soul.

Perfect Silence

Flight of nightfall’s birds to nest;
flutter-rush of wings in faultless time.
Their evening song welcomes
the whispered hush,
of Vespers’ coming hour.

Behold the sacred light;
created by the Father’s unseen hand.
Shadows awash in shades
of twilight’s soft embrace.
Color brushed upon a thirsting soul.

Surrender to the sound of perfect silence,
Fingertips in tune with palms in prayer.

Bio: Claudia graduated with a degree in Art Education. She was a high school art teacher for several years. Eventually, she ventured into the commercial world of interior design and freelance work, but never lost her love for creating fine art. Her oil paintings and mixed-media pieces have been featured in galleries and municipal buildings, and are in many private collections. She is also an author, and has written many newspaper articles, a children's book, and poetry to accompany her paintings.
